My house is only approximately twenty years old. The previous occupants were the original ones and no one has died in the house.
However, I keep sensing at least one presence, possibly two. I am catching shadows out of the corner of my eye, smelling odors, that are not unpleasant, yet out of place and I can feel them.
So my next question is, could it be land spirits? What was here before the house, street, town?
There is a river 3 side streets over, the Nottawasaga River. The name is Iroquois for "mouth of the river" and in 1665 a major battle in the French and Iroquois Wars occured here. Also, in the war of 1812, another major battle took place here as well, this time between the Americans and the British.
I will have to be more observant of our fellow residents, to see if I can figure out what their origins may be.
